Arch, done the way it should have been from the start.

The mission

Arch Linux is the best base system in the world — rolling, minimal, and honest. But installing it is a weekend project for a power user. takhiOS closes that gap: a beautiful, guided installer that produces a real, clean Arch system, with bcachefs and Limine wired up out of the box.

The story

takhiOS started as a build script and a stubborn idea: the most advanced installer ever built could be a web app running live from a USB stick. It grew into a full distribution, built by one developer with AI assistance.

The values

The name

takhiOS is named after the takhi — the Mongolian wild horse, the last truly wild horse on Earth. Never domesticated, it survived near-extinction and roams free. That's the spirit of the distro.

UIL Labs

takhiOS is built by UIL Labs, a small research lab working on making operating systems better. The installer, the build system, SecAdvisor, and the fleet tooling come out of that research.
